Below are samples of RTI images of cuneiform texts and cylinder seals prepared by Klaus Wagensonner that can be displayed using a viewer developed by Gianpaolo Palma at CNR-ISTI. In each instance, the first link points to the CDLI page of the particular artifact, and the following links to various RTI views of the same object. Most image files are the creation of Oxford/CDLI working in the collections of the Ashmolean and the Louvre Museums, in the private Schøyen Collection, and in the National Museums Scotland, Edinburgh; the files of Sargon II statues and reliefs from Dur-Sharrukin were done by members of the West Semitic Research Project with the kind permission of the Oriental Institute Museum of the University of Chicago. Images will load incrementally when zooming, so please be patient if you have limited bandwidth. Once loaded, images are defaulted to use of the lightbulb tool, so that your cursor is effectively a light source for the surface of the artifacts and can be moved to change that source round about the inscription and other surface patterns on the artifact, and to manipulate the angle of light hitting the surface; switch it off in order to move the image when zoomed in (see here for further details; note that WebGL must be enabled in browsers—see "Support/Desktop browsers" here [iOS 7 does not, but 8 purportedly will support WebGL]). Cylinder seals. Samples of cylinder seals are presented in complete digital rollouts. The technique using conventional photography has been described by Klaus Wagensonner in CDLN 2014:008, and generally on RTI imaging in 2015:001.
